Make Sense - M8s
Rising D.C.-based production duo, Make Sense, has just delivered an incredible edit to Mura Masa’s infectious track, “Sole M8s,” putting their own spin on the delicate production and making it their own.
As a huge fan of the original, I was really excited to receive this submission and upon first listen, was really impressed. Not only has Make Sense done the original justice, but they’ve also provided a fresh new spin on a track that I consider near-perfect. With a heavier, distorted trip hop touch, Make Sense keeps the “sole” of the original intact while adding their own underlying chord progressions, heavier bass lines, and a great use of vocal manipulation to chop up the original’s hooks, all working together to provide a raw, emotional impact. Altogether, this is a really great release from Make Sense and we’re looking forward to the next tune dropped from this budding duo.
